Apple Bondi

Pretty good location for the new Apple store in Sydney beats going down to grumby George street to hang with the Apple nerds rubbing their ipads. Not sure about the ipad, I suppose if you only surf the net its pretty good, kinda pricy though!

Who says Coogee doesn't get surf!

It was a shame we were up the coast scoring uncrowded waves to witness the biggest surf this winter season awaken the usually surf lacking Coogee .

Crystal Head Vodka

My friend Amy sent me this link to Crystal Head Vodka, at first I thought it was a piss take and to be honest I still can not take it seriously.
I'm sure its not the best tasting vodka in the world but the glass skull bottle looks cheesy cool!
Dan Aykroyd does an awesome job selling it in, to check out Dan's video and more on

Crown Forklifts

I never seen an advert for forklifts on prime time TV before moving to Australia! I think the catchy jingle originated in 70s.

The Sketch by Robert S Oliver

This is awesome book by Robert S oliver published in New York, 1979 is one of my most prized books. Its a great book to flick through and soak in Robert's amazing sketches. It covers all aspects of sketching from line, shape and detail to composition and perspective. I know very little about the author apart from whats written on the blurb which is a shame. I would imagine Robert is retired now after spending many years sketching and teaching Architectural Design at Arizona State University. Some the sketches are reminiscent of Evan Hecox drawings and illustrations, maybe he's got this book stashed away in his studio! Robert S Oliver

QQ noodles

I love asian supermarkets its like going on holiday, there is always some new and random food to try. I never knew there where so many dried noodle brands on the market, some with the most bizarre flavours. QQ noodles really stood out on the crowded fixure
with their simple branding and bold colours. photo will sherman

What was that book called I wanted?!

Discovering interesting and inspiring books is such a joy but having the cash to add them to your collection is another matter. One neat way of remembering what books you would like purchase is to take a quick and dirty camera phone pic of the book.

One day...

...if I happen to win the Lotto I think I will go out and get myself a rally car. Ken Block the the co-founder of DC Shoes and rally nut has taken throwing rally cars around corners and over bumps to the next level over the pass few year. He has received heaps of media coverage from Intersection magazine to Top Gear. Pictures do not do his exploits any justice, check out these videos Car gymkhana STI Tank Snow Park via 0-60 mag

FreshCase

I worked on this project with my friend Martyn Wallwork while at Drink Works in London. Its fantastic to see that it has made it to market. We produced quite a few prototypes in developing the concept. Its great was to have the opportunity to modernise the wine cask and to see people interest in it. The Hardys Nottage Hill FreshCase is to launch in Sainsbury's from the 1st of November and will retail for £19.99. For more info on FreshCase

Shirayuki-fukin towels

We where send these awesome towels from our friends in Japan. Everything is so carefully crafted from the gift wrapping around the box to the folded starched towels themselves. Shirayuki-fukin literally means "white snow cloth" . The towels are very popular in japan. The cotton fabric was used to make mosquito netting in Nara prefecutre in Japan but with the introduction of screens for doors and windows after WW2 the demand for mosquito nets disappeared. These beautiful cloths are super soft and absorbent once they are 'de-starched' For more on Shirayuki-fukin photo: will sherman

Touch And Go

Touch and Go the third wakeboard I produced. I kept the video pretty short and sweet. Filming and editing is pretty time consuming, at the time I wanted just to go ride instead of film. With the introduction of cameras such the GoPro hero HD producing your own 'action sports' video has become a lot easier and cheaper.

Slack

Slack, the second wakeboard video I produced in 2002 following on from Cut Above. New 3CCD camera, a few lessons learnt and everyone riding stepped up a gear made for a pretty cool little video.

Cut Above

Cut Above was my first venture in video photography. Filmed over the summer in 2000 featuring the riding of Ben Hitch, Craig O'Meara, Paul Mew and many more of my friends. Many of these guys still rip today nearly 10 years lately! I occasionally take the wakeskate out for session but find it too brutal on the body. I really enjoyed the whole process of putting a video together. To my knowledge this was first wakeboard video to put together in the UK.
